Jera on Air marked its 26th edition this year in a pretty special way: for the first time in its rich history, the Ysselsteyn bash sold out! Some 6,000 revellers descended upon the small Dutch town to go absolutely apeshit in the pit and drink more Monster Energy and lukewarm beer than anywhere else in the country. Stereotypes aside, though, Jera on Air really outdid itself this year. Holland’s primary post-hardcore, metalcore and punk rock festival found itself boasting a line-up which had something for everyone: established greats (Underøath, Billy Talent, Anti-Flag), hot new prospects (Blood Youth, Bury Tomorrow, Boston Manor) and the kind of bands who are made for tearing shit up (Enter Shikari, Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, Knocked Loose). All Things Loud spent the entire weekend traipsing around Ysselsteyn and capturing the best of what went down at Jera on Air. For our first lookj back, we’re presenting you with the best of #JOA18’s Thursday night pre-party and first official festival day (Friday). Keep an eye out on our socials later this week for even more Jera on Air, including interviews with Neck Deep, Blood Youth and Knocked Loose. All shots by Liza van de Ven.
