Metallica’s James Hetfield Suffers Onstage Fall in Amsterdam

Metallica frontman James Hetfield suffered a nasty fall onstage in Amsterdam last night.

The thrash metallers took new album Hardwired…to Self-Destruct to a packed out Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, performing on a 360 degree stage in the middle of the arena.

During the band’s sixth song, Now That We’re Dead, Hetfield missed sight of a hole in the stage destined for a drum riser, toppling over and narrowly avoiding serious injuries.

Crew were quick to help Hetfield back on his feet, and you can find footage of the fall and the frontman’s painful completion of the song below.

Metallica will return to the Ziggo Dome tomorrow (6 September), together with Kvelertak.
