The Christmas lights are hanging, the trees have been put up and the out of office auto-replies are slowly flooding our inboxes, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to celebrate the thirty best songs that we heard in 2024. It was a year dominated by a powerful new wave of pop stars, most notably Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan. It was also the year that saw a new look Linkin Park return to a scene that had changed completely since they were last part of it. But perhaps most memorably, it was also the year Kendrick Lamar finished off Drake, leaving no stone unturned in his relentless takedown of the Canadian rapper.
