King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard in Amsterdam: Bigger, Better, Brilliant

The rise of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard has always been an intriguing one. The prolific six-piece don’t need an introduction by now, yet if you asked a random passerby on the street about them they’d probably look at you perplexed. How are they so big then? Simple: their cult-like following, an exponentially growing throng of thousands upon thousands of self-professed Gizzheads, whose infectious affection for the band has seen the fanbase grow while going almost unnoticed. A sleeping monster of sorts.

Over the years, Stu Mackenzie and co. have built up a good relationship with the Netherlands, and last night they played their biggest headline show to date in the country. 3,000 fans turned up for a sold out set at the Gashouder in Amsterdam, and Jack Parker captured what went down. Los Bitchos opened the night, and you can find a full gallery below.
