King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have released a brand new single.
Cyboogie is Stu Mackenzie and co.’s first release since putting out five studio albums in 2017, and it marks the start of a new sonic era for the Australian heavyweights.
The septet have largely ditched live instruments on Cyboogie, opting for a synth-led approach which employs bouncy rhythmic grooves and spaced out melodies. Its vintage music video – directed by Jason Galea, as per – features the band performing the track in a dark room, donning crash helmets and red jumpsuits.
Cyboogie is expected to be the first single from King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s upcoming studio album, one of at least two to be released in 2019. Listen below.
