Pop punk legends Sum 41 have announced that they will be returning to the Dutch stage in 2016. The newly reunited group, featuring the now-healthy frontman Deryck Whibley, will play Amsterdam’s Melkweg on 22 February.
Sum 41 emerged onto the rabid pop punk scene back in 2001, when they formed part of an era spearheaded by contemporaries such as Blink 182 and Alien Ant Farm. The band went through troubling times across the years, with frontman Whibley also suffering severe health problems over the last few years. Now, Whibley is completely healthy and Sum 41 are getting ready to make a big European comeback in 2016. They’ve already been confirmed as headliners for next year’s Kerrang! Tour, with the band making up for pulling out in 2012. The band will also release a new album next year, with funds for the process being raised through a Crowdfunding campaign.
Tickets for next February’s Melkweg show will cost €23 (plus a €4 Melkweg member fee) and are now on sale here. Listen to Fat Lip by Sum 41 below.
