Fire, Smoke & Explosions: It Can Only Be Sabaton

Seldom has a metal band gone to lengths as extreme as Sabaton. The Swedish cult heroes are currently touring Europe in support of new album The Great War. It’s yet another concept piece about World War I, this time paired with their most ambitious live show to date. Taking to a stage redesigned to resemble a grimy war trench, the metallers kept Amsterdam’s AFAS Live on the tips of their toes and edges of the seats for the best part of 90 minutes. Joyce van Doorn checked it out.
