Arctic Monkeys Tease European Summer Dates, Confirm Firefly Appearance

UPDATE: Wildlife Entertainment, who manage Arctic Monkeys, have confirmed that said video was falsified and fake. That said, though, it still seems to be the case that multiple festivals will confirm an appearance by Alex Turner and co. as early as tomorrow, following on from Firefly Festival this afternoon.

Arctic Monkeys have teased a string of European festival appearances by means of a brief Instagram clip.

The live video, which was deleted quickly, depicted a set of co-ordinates and accompanying dates which fell in line with festivals Alex Turner and co. had been rumoured to appear at.

A Reddit thread, which you can find here, has gathered all the necessary hints. It concludes that the Sheffield quartet will appear at a handful of summer festivals, including Best Kept Secret on 8 June and Rock Werchter roughly one month later. The Spanish Mad Cool Festival is also listed.

The American Firefly Festival, which also featured among the rumours, has since confirmed the band’s appearance atop the bill alongside fellow headliners Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and The Killers. This will take place mid-June, meaning that the band will perform European dates either side of their Firefly appearance.

Keep an eye out on Arctic Monkeys’ social channels tomorrow for more news, with the release of new music also a concrete possibility.
