Nickelback Treat Half-Full Ziggo Dome to Greatest Hits Set

Last night, Canadian dad rockers Nickelback treated Amsterdam’s half-filled Ziggo Dome to a greatest hits set which encapsulated every single element of the band’s “love it, hate it”-success. Chad Kroeger and co., who released latest record No Fixed Address some two years ago, may have had nothing new to promote, but they certainly had a few tricks up their sleeve as they entertained some 11,000 fans to the likes of pummelling set opener Edge of a Revolution, behemoth classic How You Remind Me and modern hit Rockstar. It might be deemed as ‘cool’ or ‘funny’ to hate on Nickelback, but onstage it seems as though the band are facing up to their doubters and putting on a live show which is part cliche and part anthemic. Check out a selection of shots from the show below.
