Text & Image: Madison Truscan Next week, 140,000 fans from around the world will attend OSHEAGA’s 19th year at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montréal. We may be a bit biased, but we truly believe this is one of the most diverse and flat out fun music and art festivals one can attend. OSHEAGA showcases both emerging national and local artists, along with some of today’s biggest hitmakers.
The festival is known for bringing in a massive array of stars in a variety of genres and has built a reputation for hosting an impressive lineup of global talent. Its stages have featured many memorable names, including Green Day, SZA, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Burna Boy, Snoop Dogg, Chappell Roan, Hozier, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Dua Lipa, A$AP Rocky, Childish Gambino, The Weeknd, Coldplay, Muse, Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Florence + The Machine, The Cure, Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Eminem, The Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire, Weezer, Beastie Boys, The Killers, and countless others.
So, what makes OSHEAGA so unique? It’s held on an island, accessible from downtown Montréal via Metro, surrounded by the most beautiful lush greenery and incredible skyline view. You feel fully immersed in the festival upon entering the gates. Brand activations are present but don’t overwhelm you, making the focus truly on both music and art. There’s a variety of stages to choose from, each with their own quirks and setting amongst incredible art installations and curated lounge areas. For fans visiting from the states, it’s an incredible way to dip your toes into Montréal culture and experience the lifestyle so vastly different than any music festival in the states..
This year, we’re most looking forward to seeing Lorde, Mt. Joy, Gunna, Amelie Lens, Wet Leg, Between Friends, and Stella Lefty.
