The stage is set like a 1993 NYC cityscape, complete with graffiti, fire escapes, street lamps and a replica of a pizza restaurant. The 21 year old viral sensation takes the stage emerging from double doors into a cloud of fog and nearly 14,000 young fans scream with all their might.
“For evening activities, you made your way over to the American Airlines Center to watch Sombr. But I want you to forget about all that for tonight. Welcome to New York City. You are in my universe tonight. Now for the next two hours, or however long this concert will last, I ask that each and every single one of you lose yourselves to the music. I want you to dance, sing, scream, jump, be yourself unapologetically because why the fuck else are we coming out to concerts otherwise? Everything else in your life can wait a few more hours, okay?”.

Sombr’s set was emotive, vulnerable and full of depth, more than we’ve seen in previous shows. It’s clear he LOVES performing and his rise to fame has greatly impacted him. He’s matured immensely since his last performance in Dallas, selling out the CUTX Event Center exactly a year prior in October 2025. The audience was captivated not only by his quirky charm, but by his relatability. He paused before performing Homewrecker to address the crowd, stating, “This next song is my newest song and I wrote it about the struggles I’ve had my whole life with my body image. I just wanted to say to anyone out there that looks in the mirror and doesn’t always like what they see, whether it’s your acne or your body, you are not alone. You are so beautiful and I want this song to be your guy’s song. This song is for you guys.”
It’s not easy for an artist to make a massive arena feel like an intimate theater. Between his larger-than-life personality, infectious energy and glimpse of genuine vulnerability, he proved his appeal goes beyond viral hits. There’s a reason his fanbase and audience continues to grow: he makes people feel something. We’re excited to see Sombr’s career take off even further throughout the rest of this tour and into 2027.
