During Austin’s SXSW, some of New York’s hottest prospects took to the stage in what could only be considered as a successful second wave of Big Apple indie rock. Abi Raymaker’s second SXSW piece focusses on two of the best New York acts to grace Texan stages – Public Access TV and Honduras. Honduras are a four-piece punk-influenced group out of New York, and we recommend Therapy, the first track off their 2015 LP Rituals. The group has recently been touring with Public Access TV, another New York band who released their sophomore album Street Safari in February. Compared to Honduras, Public Access TV steps away from punk and head towards funk, with heavy 70’s and 80’s influences in their back pockets.
