Real Friends Sack Driver Amid Allegations

Pop punkers Real Friends have sacked their bus driver, Ken Fasel.

Fasel, who is also bassist Kyle’s Dad, was accused of holding inappropriate conversations with underage fans, a claim which has caused him to lose his role within the band’s crew.

In a statement, Real Friends said: “Yesterday evening we were made aware of allegations against our driver, Ken Fasel. With Real Friends we’ve strived to create an inclusive, safe and positive space and we do not agree in any way with Ken’s actions. Taking advantage of one’s position in order to inappropriately speak with a fan, especially someone that is young and vulnerable, is not tolerable and Ken is no longer working for us.”

The band added: “We apologize to the victim and want to reassure you that we stand with survivors of abuse, especially in these revealing times. Thank you to those who have shared their experiences with us and brought this to our attention. We are grateful to have proactive fans that are willing to look out for each other and make sure that everybody’s voices carry weight.”

The news comes during a dark week for the music industry, with members of With Confidence, Brand New and Suicide Silence amongst many facing similair allegations.
