It’s that time of year again. After eleven months of stellar releases, sublime comebacks and surprise stars, it’s time to take a look at the fifty records which we believe are the year’s best. It’s always difficult compiling a list which many feel is subject to personal opinion, so this year we’ve shaken up our categorisation and scoring process in order to present you with the most neutrally balanced Top 50 possible. Another thing we’re shaking up this year is the explanation process behind each placement. Instead of give you a whole paragraph explaining why we’ve made a particular choice, we’re going to leave you with each respective record’s key song. Let the music, and nothing else, do the explaining. Today we kick off our countdown with the first ten albums, namely those who hold the positions 41 through to 50.
50 Falling in Reverse – Coming Home
49 Neck Deep – The Peace & The Panic
48 Slowdive – Slowdive
47 Royal Blood – How Did We Get So Dark?
46 Björk – Utopia
45 Being As An Ocean – Waiting For Morning to Come
44 Phoenix – Ti Amo
43 Silverstein – Dead Reflection
42 King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – Polygondwanaland
41 Harry Styles – Harry Styles
Check back tomorrow for the second instalment of our countdown.
