Donny Benét Tackles Dreams and Realities on New Single American Dream

Aussie wonderman Donny Benét is back with a new single.

American Dream is the Don’s first proper foray – if you could call it that – into music with political leanings, referencing Donald Trump (“the orange man“), Russia and China within its funky opening verse.

Describing the track, Benét said that American Dream – the follow-up to lead single Multiply – is about “the fragmentation of our distorted dreams and realities that we live by“. Partly inspired by James Brown’s Living in America, American Dream is another slice of Donnified modern funk, bound to go down well during his US an EU tours later this year.

Donny’s sprawling new album Infinite Desires is due 29 February. Head to donnybenet.com for more information, and watch the Alex Smith-directed video for American Dream below.
