American alt pop quartet Fall Out Boy have teamed up with EDM DJ Steve Aoki on a track called Back to Earth. The song, which makes out part of Aoki’s Neon Future 1, features Patrick Stump’s vocals alongside brief interspersed sections from his band. It’s also been branded with an accompanying video, which can be viewed after the jump.
Earlier this year, Fall Out Boy released the mildly disappointing American Beauty/American Psycho, which followed exciting comeback album Save Rock & Roll. The record strayed even further away from Fall Out Boy’s trademark pop punk urgency, rather focussing on elements of RnB, pop and soul with a guitar-based edge. It proved popular in the charts, although the record didn’t bode so well with critics. The band are currently promoting the record by touring America alongside special guest Wiz Khalifa.

Now, the band have done the inevitable and teamed up with an EDM producer (it was only a matter of time before this would happen) for a one-off track. Back to Earth features on Aoki’s 2014 album Neon Future 1, and has now received an accompanying video release. You can listen to the track and watch its accompanying video below.
Later this year, Fall Out Boy will hit European shores for their current promotional run, hitting Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall on 20 October. Jack Parker
