Last night, Texan post-hardcore behemoths At the Drive-In stopped off at the 013 in Tilburg for a night which could be only be described as not quite what everyone had hoped for in advance. Despite Cedric Bixler-Zavala and co.’s best intentions and outright energetic performance (which peaked on the brutal One Armed Scissor, having set the bar high on opener Arcarsenal), it seemed as though the unfortunately undersold and somewhat unenthusiastic crowd put a damper on the whole show. Both special guests Death From Above and quirky Mexican openers Le Butcherettes had extreme difficulty engaging with the 1,200-strong audience, despite both pulling off eclectic performances which promised a lot. Jack Parker went down to capture proceedings.
