It’s been nearly ten years since French superstars Phoenix performed in the Netherlands. Back in 2013, the indie pop outfit headlined Pinkpop Festival’s second stage in front of a miserably small crowd. Whether or not this was the reason for such a long absence from the low lands is uncertain, but either way their absence finally ended at the weekend thanks to two sold-out shows at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. Their return has already been announced – they’ll headline Down the Rabbit Hole next summer. Marc Prodanovic checked out the second Paradiso show. Sons of Raphael opened the evening.
