Tool to Release New Album in April, Says Drummer

Tool will release their new album in April, according to drummer Danny Carey.

During a signing session at American NAMM convention, Carey told an eager fan that the long-awaited new album is slated for “mid-April”, putting an end to twelve patient years for fans of the American prog metal band.

In the twelve years since Tool released the acclaimed 10,000 Days, the band have all but sit still, in particular frontman Maynard James Keenan. When not busy with Tool, Keenan has remained busy with side projects Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, the latter of which he toured the world with last year.

A title, tracklist and artwork are all still to be unveiled, but if mid-April is indeed when the world can expect new Tool that news shouldn’t be too far off. Tool will tour Europe this summer, including sets at Rock am Ring and Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.
