The world’s music royalty has descended upon the British city of Hull this weekend for BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
The festival, which changes location yearly, offers the world’s biggest stars a chance to shine on the big stage in order to support their latest release, whilst also bringing a smaller British city the chance to put on the best event they can.
This year was no different, with the free festival boasting big hitters such as Biffy Clyro, You Me At Six and Kasabian on its opening day. Check out an expansive selection of footage from the festival’s first day below.
Radio 1’s Big Weekend concludes today with sets by Kings of Leon and Royal Blood. Find a full selection of performances from across the weekend here.
