Muse have performed a very special version of Dig Down.

Matt Bellamy and co. unveiled a stripped back gospel rendition of the track last night during their appearance on Later… with Jools Holland, which was broadcast live on BBC Two in support of new album Simulation Theory (due 9 November).

The new, acoustic-based version of the electro rock track features a gospel choir as well as Jools Holland himself on piano accompaniment, with Bellamy’s vocals soaring on a performance which sounds far removed from the bombastic stomp of the studio version.

A gospel version of Dig Down is set to feature on the deluxe edition of new album Simulation Theory, and you can check out last night’s performance below.
