Dour Festival marked its 30th anniversary in a handful of special ways: not only had the Belgian bash changed its location and subsequently disoriented large swathes of dedicated followers, but they’d also managed to attract nearly 230,000 people over the course of five action-packed days. With some 45,000 people onsite per day, Dour is up there with some of the Benelux’s biggest weekenders both in terms of visitors as well as in terms of the line-up it pulls. The bash managed to attract an appealing swathe of names, including modern day greats (Alt J, The Chemical Brothers, Diplo), hot new prospects (Parcels, Scarlxrd, Rex Orange County) and the kind of acts who are made for tearing festivals up in their own special way (Oh Sees, Tyler the Creator, Soulwax). All Things Loud’s Dewi Mik and Marc Prodanovic spent the entire weekend enjoying what Dour had to offer, capturing the festival’s best performances and vibrant atmosphere. Today we kick off our coverage of Dour with the first part of an expansive coverage gallery. Join us as we look at the acts who made the first two days of the Belgian bash so exciting, featuring Diplo, Little Dragon, Joey BadA$$ and more.
