Sources: Jan Smeets “Not Yet Satisfied” With Pinkpop Headliners, Additional Big Name Booked

According to local sources, Pinkpop boss Jan Smeets has claimed that he isn’t entirely satisfied by the big names destined for his festival in 2018.

The festival will welcome Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Bruno Mars to its stage next summer, marking another big edition for one of Western Europe’s biggest festivals.

A user on the widely popular Festileaks forum claims to have been in contact with a local council official, with said lawmaker supposedly revealing that Smeets has even gone so far as to book a fourth headliner.

The post read: “Important Pinkpop news! A lawmaker from Landgraaf has told me that Jan Smeets is currently not happy with the headliners. Smeets added that he’s booked a so-called ‘fourth headliner’ who should pull more than 100,000 visitors.”

The user did not provide a named source, but with an unusual amount of silence from within the Pinkpop camp in the build up to next summer, you could suggest that something is indeed bubbling up.

What happens remains to be seen, but you can definitely expect a fair few surprises when the line-up is announced in its entirety in February.

Pinkpop 2018 takes place from 15-17 June in Landgraaf, Holland.
